Electricity bills in India commonly follow a telescopic slab system. This means your total units are not charged at one single rate. Instead, different portions of your consumption are charged at different slab rates.
For example, if you consume 150 units, the first 100 units may be charged at a lower rate, while the remaining 50 units are charged at the next slab rate. After that, fixed charges, duty, and other applicable charges may be added.
